At 3kms Pont du Gard, majestic relic Romaine, Pont du Gard is a World Heritage by UNESCO since 1985.
It was built between AD 40 and 60 AD by the Romans to supply Nîmes with water. The bridge is actually a small part of the aqueduct (50 km long), which led water from the fountain of Eure near Uzès to Nîmes.
